Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) October 24, 2011

The InterOrganization Network (ION), a national nonprofit organization representing more than 10,000 women dedicated to increasing representation of women on for-profit boards and in executive suites, today announced two events supporting gender diversity supported by its member organizations in Tennessee and California:

????On October 25, ION President-Elect Sarah Meyerrose will moderate a panel discussion showcasing gender diversity as an investment concept at the Nashville Airport Marriott. Women: The Best Investment You Can Make, will feature Kathleen McQuiggen of PAX World and Jan Babiak from the investor perspective. The event is part of the 2011 Economic Summit for Women, which will take place October 24 and 25 in Nashville, Tenn. The summit is being produced by The Womens Economic Council Foundation (WECF), with support from ION Member Organization CABLEs hallmark initiative Women on Corporate Boards. After the panel, Meyerrose will lead a discussion about the well-documented business case that gender diversity on corporate boards and in executive suites is a positive indicator of future performance.

????On October 26, ION Member Organization Watermark will host a workshop for participants in its Watermark Institute Board Access Program, and other women interested in positioning themselves for board service. The two-hour workshop, Reformulate, Refine, & Rebrand: Reinventing Yourself for Board Access, will be held at KPMG in Mountain View, Calif. It will be led by Dee McCrorey, author of the newly released book Innovation in a Reinvented World: 10 Essential Elements to Succeed in the New World of Business, and will focus on identifying and assessing the quantifiable value women bring to the table to build, or rebuild, their personal brand.

Our Member Organizations are doing a great job at the grassroots level preparing women for board service, said ION President Charlotte Laurent-Ottomane. The more qualified women who are ready, willing and able to sit at the table, the faster corporations will evolve beyond token representation to a critical mass of women directors.
