The total regular premium unit-linked market has declined at a compound annual rate of 35% between 2000 and 2004, mainly brought down by a sharp decline in mortgage related unit-linked endowments through this period.

The base forecast scenario anticipates that unit-linked bond new business will grow at a compound annual rate of 8% between 2004-2009. This will result in the level of unit-linked bond new business increasing from £1.2bn in 2003 to just over £1.8bn in 2009.
